I don’t know how well informed the dealers are on availability. I think they had got to their final price and I was worried the cars were going to be sold before I pulled the trigger. There final out the door price I had got them two was within $100. One had the car on the lot with a about 6 miles on the odometer the other two were willing to let me put a deposit down for one on the way. I ended up working with three dealers that were in an acceptable driving range. I didn’t get much of a deal but I needed a car and got what I wanted. The Costco and Navy Federal car buying programs were not being accepted on the CE at the dealerships I takes to. I bought a CE Turbo AWD on New Years Eve. Final paid price before any fees $29100 or $2660 in savings. Taxes were $560 after used car trade in market value evaluation used to offset taxes I'll give you an example of my experience I thought this was bogus so I argued against it.ĭestination charges are based on state and non negotiableĭealer fees are based on state and dealer (some states like mine, dealer can charge whatever they want), and are potentially negotiable Mine added tint, wheel locks, paint protection warranty, then tried to charge me $2999 for it. Some states allow the buyer to offset new car taxes due at purchase with your current trade in car, you can look this up online, see link below.ĭon't let the dealer try to add unnecessary items to the price. Feel free to tell them you can find your price in other nearby dealers, sometimes this can help in negotiating (checking auto traders or car gurus websites could be helpful) If dealer can't come down in price you have to be willing to walk out. be confident in what price you're willing to pay before hand.Dealers will try to loop everything together, try to confuse you so they can bump up the total price without you noticing don't let the dealer try to negotiate your trade in before you have agreed upon your new car price.A good article to read on how dealers make their money and how you can better negotiate. A good 2020 deal would be somewhere around 10-20% off msrp from Mazda. If 2020 model, they have some great deals now bc they're costing the dealer to sit on the lot. if new, there's always a price margin the dealers can budge on.P.S: I also looked at CE model when I was shopping and most dealers weren't willing to discount a lot due to the demand and limited quantities! Using this, I went from being quoted $295 CX5 Touring with Preferred Package in Silver or Blue to $265 CX5 Touring with Preferred Package in Soul Red (They discounted that $450 for color too) This will help you save anywhere from $500-1500 Just take it, get the car and next week pay them off using your pre-approved loan. You will get the best rate only if you take Mazda or dealers finance.
